Franciscan Mass Association

The Franciscan Mass Association helps towards the costs of the Friary, the training of Franciscan students and the formation of the Friars who depend upon your support. In gratitude, we celebrate a Mass every day for all enrolled Members as well as remembering them in our daily prayers. You may enroll yourself or others, living or deceased, for just £2 per year, or give a special gift card, folder or certificate.

Mass & Membership

Membership in the Franciscan Mass Association means that those enrolled are remembered at Mass every day at the Friary. Those enrolled with Mass Folder D are remembered as above and, in addition, a Mass is celebrated specifically for them alone. The Mass will be celebrated by a Conventual Franciscan priest. The donation for Mass is included in the price.
What is a Novena?

A novena prayer is a private or public devotion in the Catholic Church to obtain special graces. Traditionally a novena prayer involves the act of praying a specific prayer or set of prayers for nine consecutive days or weeks with the intention of seeking spiritual guidance, special favors, or divine intercession. The term "novena" is derived from the Latin word "novem" meaning nine. Historically rooted in early Christianity, novenas are often prayed in anticipation of significant liturgical feasts or to ask for particular graces. They can be dedicated to Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Virgin Mary, or various saints. Each day of the novena may contain a particular intention or theme, leading the devotee towards deeper spiritual insight and unity with God. Throughout the centuries, many have testified to the profound spiritual experiences and answered prayers associated with this focused period of devotion.

We warmly invite you to participate in our Novenas. Feel free to enroll yourself, friends, and loved ones, whether they are with us or have passed on. Throughout the nine consecutive days of the designated Feast, the names of those registered, along with any petitions, will be honored by placing them near the altar during our Masses. To ensure timely delivery of your cards, we kindly ask that you place your orders well in advance.

The Friars will unite their prayers with yours during the Novena. The names of everyone enrolled, both the living and the departed, will be presented on the altar during these Masses
Mass Intentions
It is an ancient and noble practice to pray for the living and the dead at Mass. The greatest and most powerful prayer we have is the Mass, since the fruits of the Mass are the very fruits of Jesus' redemption made present to us. Therefore, so many of us seek to book a Mass intention for our loved ones.
The prices listed for items in our catalogue are simply suggested donations. Your generous contribution helps support our mission and the work we do. Thank you for supporting us!
